Utah Tour Guide Association

History:

The Utah Tour Guide Association (UTGA) was created when several Utah guides and service providers came together in 2004 with the intention of improving the overall tour experience for visitors of the state of Utah and to promote the visibility, importance and understanding of professional tourist guides. Since it's creation UTGA has created a system of networking, ongoing education, and tour guide certification that is making a difference in the state tourism industry. UTGA also serves as a point of contact for clients who wish to engage a certified guide for step on or over the road services.

Mission Statement

The Utah Tour Guide Association is a nonprofit organization working to raise the quality of guide services offered in Utah through education, a positive exchange of ideas, friendships, and to be a channel for current and updated tourism information. We are a voice to assist those who provide guide services and those who affect the laws. The use of our directory is for clients to find the appropriately qualified guide for a particular job. We desire to improve the health of our industry resulting in more work for everyone while respecting the competitor's rights of privacy regarding pay, uniqueness of service and contractual agreements between employers and employees.
